Open letter to our clients
I hope you are all keeping safe and well at home with your families, where possible. For those of you who are key workers, thank you for all that you do to keep the country running during these unusual times. I hope it’s not too stressful for you and you are able to get some relaxation time at some point during the week!
I am sure you have all been following the news and have seen the updates from both the UK Government and the Scottish Government on reopening the country. We have been following the guidelines closely and from that, we guess that it will be July before we reopen. Social distancing in a salon is impossible and we need to keep both our clients and our staff safe when we come back to work. I suspect there will be a lot of changes to how a salon operates and we are using our time now to prepare for that, as best we can.
I have made the decision to cancel our bookings up until the end of May, for the moment. The likelihood is that we won’t be able to return in June but I don’t want to take appointments out of the diary that we may be able to fulfil. I have been keeping a spreadsheet with everyone’s name, who had an appointment cancelled. When we return, we will be contacting these clients in date order (if your appointment was cancelled in the first week of lockdown, you’ll be one of the first offered a new slot.) We are going to do our best to get everyone in as soon as we can. I am aware that restrictions will still be in place and it’s highly doubtful that we will be allowed, or want to have a salon full of people. That being said, rest assured we will do our best for each and every client who is waiting.
I also have a spreadsheet for those who haven’t had an appointment cancelled, but would like to book in. If that is you, please send us a Facebook message or email us on firstname.lastname@example.org and we can add you onto that list.
We have had a couple of clients ask if we can mix up their hair colour and drop it off to them, whilst adhering to social distancing rules. Upon consulting our insurers, I am sorry to say that this is not possible.
We have also disabled the online booking facility until we are back to work. This means that you will know for sure your appointment will still stand when we reopen the diary.
I hope I have covered everything but if you have any further questions, please get in touch either through Facebook or on email to email@example.com
See you (hopefully) soon!
